PVD Plating Meaning

PVD plating means PVD coating or vacuum plating, including evaporation, cathodic arc and magnetron sputtering. Evaporation is usually used in plastic fittings, such as toy, shoe heel and cosmetic cap, etc. Cathodic arc is also called multi arc, that is widely applied in metal(especially stainless steel), ceramic and glass. In high end product(jewelry, watch, etc.) decorative colorful PVD coating, we can see magnetron sputtering frequently. What is more, in optical industry, magnetron sputtering is also playing an important role.
